I’m an unobtrusive, documentary wedding photographer with a love for fun, candid moments and honest connection. I focus on capturing you as you truly are, whether that's during the big moments or those in-between moments when you think nobody is looking, because that’s when your relationship really shines.
My approach is relaxed, intentional, and story-focused. I want you to enjoy every second of your day, feeling comfortable and never over-posed, while still being gently guided when needed.

We can't recommend Rachael at Roots and Rays Photography enough and absolutely loved working with her for both our engagement and wedding photos.
For the engagement shoot, it was our first time doing something like that and she completely put us at ease. It was a great way to get used to the camera and we used the beautiful shots for our Save the Date cards/invitations and wedding website.
For our wedding, Rachael photographed both a small legal ceremony in Glasgow and our big wedding celebration in Tuscany with all our family and friends. Her photos absolutely exceeded all of our expectations and are a wonderful memory of all our celebrations. She made sure to get all the shots and poses we love, as well as capturing all the important details and a few surprises too. Her style is very elegant but also so natural and fun - just what we wanted.
On the day itself, Rachael was a pleasure to work with and always made us feel relaxed. It was something I didn't even think about beforehand, but you spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day, so their personality is also very important! Rachael was the best person to have around - she was calm and in control, had wonderful ideas for shots, and always reminded everyone how great they looked which made for lovely photographs. She was there for every special moment and captured them all so beautifully. We don't quite understand how she managed to capture practically everything, even all those things you don't see on the day as a bride and groom, and be in so many places at once! She's there when you need her and blends into the background and works her magic the rest of the time.
We can't stop looking at all our photos and will be forever grateful to Rachael for the amazing job she did for us.
